Biography

Paulo Castilho is a cinematographer and director with a deep passion for film and cinema. He always been fascinated by the power of visual storytelling and the role that cinematography plays in bringing a story to life.
Over the years, he had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small independent films to large-scale studio productions.
He had the privilege of collaborating with renowned names in the industry such as Manoel de Oliveira, Aki Kaurismaki, Peter Greenaway, Victor Erice, Edgar Pêra, etc.
As a director, “The Kingdom” was his first short film. No matter the scale or budget, he brings the same level of dedication and creativity to every project he works on, with a strong focus on team work and a strong sense of production (not to mention a quick wit and a good sense of humor).
In his free time, you can find him surfing (or wiping out, depending on the day), traveling with his soulmate in his campervan and hanging out with friends.
I bring the same love of adventure and connection with others into my work.
